Thank you, Toronto, for being a city where shows are abundant. Last night, with
thedeflowerer and Simon B in tow, we headed down to the Opera House to see Rotersand, Imperative Reaction and Covenant. A much needed break from the school exams and projects that have been my life as of late. We got there a bit late as I had an exam to write, and walked in during "Almost Violent" - luckily that was Rotersand's first song, and we were able to catch the rest of the set. Pretty good performance, lots of energy on stage, even if there was ZERO by the crowd. Shame the sound sucked, only the left side of the PA was functioning, but that was sorted out halfway through IR's set. They were great too, but Covenant owned the night. The lighting was great and they had SO much energy (I swear Eskil was speeding on something - he was more animated than I had ever seen him at previous gigs, and was a total chatter bug, going on about how much he loved his bandmates.) Good show though, even if the new stuff isn't what I had hoped it would be.
Looking forward to A23, and possibly the Hanzel Und Gretyl show... oh, and Fear Factory! SWEET!
