Yaaaayyy!!

I actually like Sanaki/Tormod. I thought the interaction they had in PoR was cute, and I could totally see the power struggle between them. And they seem to be roughly around the same age (i.e: younger than 16)

I never saw it. There's a power struggle, yeah, but up until FE10 I don't get that either of them actually like each other. ...And by FE10 I much prefer Sothe/Tormod anyway.
