Life has been, well, SUPER busy this spring. work's been keeping me running all over the place as i strive to finish up and close out two grants. in addition to that, i've been dancing out a lot more too and went to two great workshops in april.
this photo links to a (brief) collection of shots from my new restaurant gig. along with azeeria and nahimeh, i've been selected to be a house dancer. it's pretty nifty to have a "regular" gig, but i'm fairly honest with myself in that, honestly, my life does not allow for anything to be considered "regular" except my career. i'm ok with that, and think that this will be a great opportunity to gain experience and test run costumes.
the first time out went extrememly well. the restaurant was pakced - a bunch of my students came out to support me (which was INCREDIBLE. how awesome is it to have found that much love?!), along with my husband, his family, cerice_janan and her girls, and mahrijane's plant city contingent. that was amazing, too, because those plant city ladies were INCREDIBLY loving and nice. there were quite a few people there, too, who'd just wandered in and they were fun to play with.
although the drive is long, and that makes for a super long day after working regular job, i had a lot of fun. much thanks to cerice_janan for making this happen! she's so kind and giving to help us girls find a place like this to dance!
and thanks to everyone who came out. your love literally made me dance better!
i'm there again tomorrow night, so it should be fun!
