so, you'll remember, i said i had *two* really exciting instances of "proud belly mommyness." the first was
the_shdw_dncr on thursday night. the second gift of wonderfulness came on sunday afternoon.
i hooked up with
cerice and several of her students for the rubonia mardi gras parade. this time, since my friend had asked me to come and i was sort of the point person, i decided to give my students the opportunity to dance. now, this was just a fun little thing - nothing too serious or too crazy. just walk in the parade, dance a bout a bit, and enjoy! oh, and look fantastical too!
i was *so* proud of my girls (eep! can i *say* that?!?!). everyone looked so beautiful and did a wonderful job of dressing up. this was the first time for many of them in terms of dancing and they did admirably. everyone's movements were lovely and they exuded fun and for the most part confidence. i'm excited, now, because i can definitely take them out to other fun-type low pressure events. and, also, i'm inspired by how well they did to dust off a few of my choreographies and teach them some stuff to maybe perform at local haflas and whatnot. never in a million years did i dream that i'd be able to take my students out to do things like this - thank you all for such a wonderful gift!
the first photo is of the whole group - me,
cerice and her students, and our adorably wonderful drummers. the second one is my students and me:
phoenixxxcat, Mfon, Tracy, Taryn,
queen_aleta. great job, everyone!
