On Saturday morning, my uncle & aunt again needed a little help with their kids. Both Audry and Sarah had soccer games but the times overlapped. So I met them where Sarah was to play and got to watch her play while they left to go to Audrey's game. It was rather impressive to see how these seven and eight year olds could play! Sarah's team won 11-to-1 (actually it was more like 13-to-1 but they only score at most a ten-point spread). Afterward, I drove her home where she gave me a Valentine for both mom & I which she had made. So sweet!
Ran some errends and then met up with Steph to go out to the Tipperary Inn for Amberhawke's new CD release show. Saw many friends including
intrepidredhead. The place was packed! Got the new CD (gotta keep up my collection! *grins*)
typsygypsy and
youngraven where also there, so there was a good showing of support by Spriggan.
On Sunday, I met up with
typsygypsy and Brink for practice but the weather was again so very nice that we immediately headed over to Williamson Square in Las Collinas to "practice in public." This time, we drew a crowd of about 20 or so people! We came up with a few more sets and decided that since this seemed to be going so well that if the weather is once again good next weekend we shall go to Sundance Square in Ft. Worth and try a little busking.
We got back to Brink's and went down to the stream near his place to sit out in the lovely weather and throw some dried corn to the ducks and geese. It reminded me of going to the duck pond in Rockford during my childhood.
Sunday evening, I got a call from Julie asking if I wanted to come over "for a talk." I had figured this would the talk. So I arrive with all the expectations of that. Turns out she just wanted to chat. It was a little awkward for me because I kept expecting her to start "the talk" and then suddenly it was time to go. Odd. I've come to the decision that Julie and I aren't going to end up being a serious couple. Our style of relating to other people is just too different. And I've yet to really feel the kind of emotional connection with her that suggests it could grow into something more. But perhaps we can develope a friendship. Sometime very soon, I shall ask her just what her intentions and expectations are.
Anyway, this afternoon I'll be placing that follow-up call to Burlington to see about this possible job. I'm really hoping I get this; job-hunting is so very wearisome. And it would be nice to have job close enough to which to walk. And, hey, if I do get this, maybe I can use an employee discount to get Jenny & Johnny some things for the baby! Only about three more months 'til little MacKenzie Scott arrives! Glee!
