Well This has been one of the most busy...traumatic....and EXPENSIVE weeks in some time. After 300 dollars in tests, we found out that my big
Tigger, has Diabetes. This is going to change his life HUGE, and also change mine. He will now have to get 2 shots of insulin a day. In exactly 12 hour intervals. This means that I have to make sure at 7:15am and at 7:15pm I or Jeff are here to give him is injection. This now limits everything for me..... week at Falcon Lake?? probably not. Unless someone I know and trust, and can give him his injection is here to do so. Also his whole diet has to change. He's always been big, I just thought that is how he was. I will have to monitor for his first month, every feeding, every drink, every time he goes to the bathroom, his moods, his sleeping habits......going to be a very crazy month.
We have to go with Tiggs today at 4:30 for his first injection and to learn how to do it without hurting him. I also have to learn how to take blood (ear poke test) to check his blood-sugar constantly. And of course to get all the needles, syringes, insulin, and special food I am going to need. I thought I was getting ahead with everything now this will put us back. Both Jeff and I don't care though, we will do anything to prolong his life. He might hate me for awhile, but hopefully he will learn the routine, (and I will as well) and things will get back to normal for him.
Anyways, that is what my life will be now, I have a child that needs my attention always, But I love him, and I'm sure this will help him live a long and happy life.
