We know that a lot of his ideas didn't work out. One can be a genius and full of shit at the same time.

Sure, one can be. But I only know one thing which did not work from Tesla -- long-range wireless energy transmission. Anything else?

Very interesting. I would not call it a failure though -- the turbine worked as expected. They just failed to commercialize it.

The pump has been used commercially since 1982, so the technology was definitely useful although not in Tesla's time.
