The Revival

I am giving this journal a revival. Re-Vival. Full of Life. My Life.

After a semester of College there is plenty to reflect upon. I will present to you some valuable firsthand lessons I have learned.

1. Do not underestimate your classes. Relatively early in the semester I learned that I must do work. I must read, i must study, i must do homework. Knowledge is important. Aside from learning just because you have to, or because your parents have told you. I think its important to learn for the sake of learning. For the sake, that you find something interesting, and like understanding why things happen the way they do.

For me Science has been my interest. Being able to see the world through physics and chemistry is great. Observing and understanding is a great feeling. When i dont understand something it is frustrating. Knowledge is Power.

2. Girls are Crazy. When approaching a relationship of any sort it is important to keep in mind that logic and common sense may not be present at all. Harder then any advanced Calculus problem is understanding females. From my experiences, i believe staying relaxed ( when confused about a friendship or relationship you are in, is key. ) I like to be straightfoward for the most part, i think its important to be truthful in any type of relationship (friendship, or more.)

3. Time. With different majors, varies the amount of free time one has. In my case i have learned that I clearly need to manage my time if i want to make it out alright. I have learned that video games and tv have diminished in my college life. To me the most important is learning material (and understanding it), meeting new people (lots of cool girls around), and staying fit (going to try running, and continue lifting, b-ball on weekends.) I think college is most rewarding when you do a lot with your time. So make use of your time to accomplish goals. Goals are important from my point of view.

Aside from the weak reflection posted above, i will comment on my winter break (EXCITING!!!).

Primarily i have been hanging out, and not doing much at all. Meeting up with an array of people such as Scott, Max, Ankur, Ross, Mark, Shutkov, Danny, Steve, Evan, Mike R. It has been good to see them and see how things are going for them. I have seen an assortment of movies over break which is good.

I might be giving away some plot, so if you have not seen the movie you may not want to read.

Napoleon Dynamite - I didnt think it was amazing in terms of plot or a story, but it did its job. To entertain. I thought the movie was funny (especially Napoelon dancing). Overall decent movie.

Little Man Tate - movie about a child (Tate) who is born with tremendous mathamatical and musical talent. His ordinary highschool teacher does not provide him with what he needs ( a challenge), he is brought to a gifted school, but is looked after by a teacher who doesnt truly care about him. An interesting movie about how this child thinks and experiences others.

Absolute Power - Clint Eastwood, action type movie where Clint a professional burglar breaks into the president's mansion, and begins to steal expensive jewlary. In the mean while the President brings home a drunk female and attempts to have sex with her, when she starts saying no, things get out of control, and as the female tries to stab the president, she is shot by two secret service men. This brings a lot of plot to this movie. The president tries to cover up what he did, with the support of his wife and secret service men. The only one able to bring out the truth is the burglar who witnessed it all, behind a two way mirror. Good action movie.

American History X - A great movie, i really liked Edward Nortons character Derek. This movie is about white power and skin heads. When one skin head is sent to jail for killing two black car jackers, he experiences what its like to be a target of hate. This changes his outlook on humans, and how he treats family and others. This movie is presented through a series of flashbacks, while Danile (Derek's brother) is writing a paper about his brother. A great movie to see. Has very dramatic scenes but a great plot. My favorite movie out of the ones listed.

Anyways, i am looking foward to my next semester in college. I will have a lot of work to do, and i will try and learn more and do better in my classes. I will get back into lifting on a daily basis (although its hard with my schedule). I will keep my eyes open for awesome new friends.

I think this is a boring post, but it sums up my experience in a sense. To those of you who are reading, enjoy, or if you dont, feel free to bitch or complain or anything. I am open to all comments. Just be intelligent.

(incase i screwed up the html, excuse me)
