Wavy hair
I have the dreaded Friday detention today. But now I don't know if I’m that sad about it. Because I just found out that 2 of my close friends have it too, along with some other people I know… who aren't delinquents! So now I won't have to worry about being a delinquent. Yay. It’ll be more like a party and I’ll get all my weekend homework done. I never do my homework on weekends until the last minute on Sunday nights.
On Saturday I’m actually going to go out and do something.
My UC apps are almost done except for my essay. I just gave the 1st rough draft to my English teacher today. She makes you correct it and correct it until she feels the essay is ready. Who knows how long that'll take?? I have 11 more days to get this together. Actually, less than that because I want to send the apps out by the end of Thanksgiving Break.
It’s raining cats and dogs today.
I played with the jazz band again a couple of days ago and it was fun even though I can't play jazz at all, and the solo I am playing pretty much sounds like crap so far.
I am going to audition for All-State, All-Northern, and County bands this year. Call me crazy but it really isn't that much work. For All-State and All-Northern, you just record the selection on to a tape and make two copies of it. But for county you have to give a live audition at San Jose State. I'm confident I’ll make it into County this year since I’ve been in it for the past two years. But how well can I place? Last year, I was 7th out of like… 28 I think, which was great. But then my grandpa passed away in the middle of everything and I had to give that chair up to go to Canada for the funeral.
Who knows how well I can do this year? I have no idea how well I’ll do for State. I went to a state band festival at Cal Poly last spring and that was fun. So, I guess at least I have some experience on the state level.
