Not Fade Away

I do believe this is an inescapable aspect of the human condition. The constant fight for survival, ultimately, is what we're all about, both defined by and in spite of our circumstances. Whether it's fighting against starvation, disease, poverty, injustice... or fighting for the one you love.
I do believe there's something innate to the human spirit, an inner strength that can be damaged, confused, even temporarily beaten in the fight, but ultimately never vanquished so long as we are still alive. And being truly alive, however that may be defined for you and whatever you live for, to me that's what the fight is all about.
