The Dying Sparrow

The Tate Modern is advertising one of its latest exhibits which comprises... a dead sparrow. The BBC's website offers ten interpretations which range from the thoughtfully involved to the frankly ridiculous.

I'm not totally dismissive of such expressions of art, but I have to wonder: does it say something about me that I find myself merely recalling both the gruesome subplot to one of the books I'm current reading - Patrick Neate's The London Pigeon Wars - and the providence of the dead birds from the classic Millennium episode The Fourth Horseman?
