Any old... mobile phones?

Dear everyone on friends list, I am sorry for being so awful at replying to posts, but I have been feeling exhausted and wanting to spend my properly awake times with R or doing work.

A couple of exciting things are happening though, firstly Angela is going to Uganda to see her family and friends over there and visit the kids they are helping out- just in case anyone feels up to it, she can take over old mobile phones* (no SIM necessary, apparently- I didn't realise until I'd sent mine to her without a SIM in it by accident anyway...), maths and literacy workbooks for the kids, and maybe some Christmas party type clothes for them (clothes are generally cheaper in Uganda anyway but she wants to give them some special outfits). Can give her postal address via screened comments/private message if anyone's interested- she has a Facebook post about it here, too: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/notes/angela-kalinzi-ditchfield/pre-christmas-uganda-trip/185321653490 (don't know if it's friends-only or not, sorry!)

I also got a letter from a housing association in Edinburgh who'd got my application from the council there, and have to do a phone interview with them. I'm trying not to be too optimistic, but they did say when I asked that it wasn't entirely speculative and that they may have things coming up- it would be so nice to have somewhere affordable to live, where I wasn't paying most of my income for a place where smoke leaks in from the neighbours smoking everywhere and there's actual proper heating and stuff :P

*So they can stay in touch, use for emergencies as no one has a landline outside the cities iirc, and possibly sell on as a couple of family members are running small stalls to get together enough for buying chickens, medicine and similar.
