Misery Angel
She stands there,
Glowing in glittering gowns of gloom,
Toe deep in murky misery,
She welcomes all,
Arms wide and wings spread,
She waits to take the misery from others.
She cries a tear for each guest,
Who in turns becomes her child,
Motherly love,
Eternal condemnation,
Burden of Damnation!
Still she lifts the tears from others,
To weep for them.
In her wake while walking,
Her eyes befell another’s,
An angel.
Eyes as bright as the Sun,
With the moon hidden within.
Their eyes met,
Briefly,
A heartbeat in time,
But the warmth,
Oh the warmth from him flowed through her and poured into her soul.
She knew his name,
And he did hers.
Her mind trembled,
Toiled,
Tortured her being,
Her thoughts were filled with him,
Consuming her breath,
Until she looses herself in her waking subconscious.
He never fluttered to far from her,
Nor did he fly too close,
Just watched,
Wide eyed,
“From a Distance”.
Her hope started to crumble,
And washed away with each new tear,
Staining her cheeks,
And cutting a valley in her heart,
Until the murky muddled misery threatened to consume her whole.
She looked at him once more,
And dared to show him the oceans of tears in her eyes,
The woe in her heart,
She cried.
She closed her eyes and was consumed
By the misery of the world,
Spreading her wings to where they break from the burden,
Crushing her spirit beneath the weight,
She falls.
Tears fell that day,
When the angels came to sing,
Of the sweet angel who with broken wings,
Came to an end of which all things do.
The angel that watched her from afar,
Reach out and touched her heart
Kissed her lips
But she was still dead.
In his tears he could see,
All the world
And what was meant to be,
Buried deep inside his soul,
He learned what she had known.
He cried a tear,
As the story goes,
Enveloped himself in her robes,
And looked at the world,
Like Misery Angel done before.
