Hm...something very interesting seems to happening lately. This mansion is plagued by sudden cases of confused identity. Such a confused world this is! No good could come of it.

It's the only natural progression of the plot that the characters would begin to lose themselves in the process.
[But he doesn't seem concerned for his sanity. Obviously he's in his right mind; he's the all-powerful and mighty storyteller. So instead he's laughing, which probably isn't a good sign.]
