Barbican Les Mis production today! OMG!

I'm so excited. My Mum said that my main birthday present was to go to the tour production at the Barbican, although she didn't tell me when. I just found out it was today! It really is going to be incredible seeing it staged in the same theatre as the very original production. In a lot of ways, I prefer the original production in terms of blocking and staging but I get the feeling that the atmosphere will probably be more intense. I am completely biased as the Barbican is my favourite theatre, closely followed by the National. I went there with my grandparents loads when I was little, so I always feel tinges of nostalgia whenever I go back there. I am really looking forward to JOJ and Earl Carpenter. Both play their respective roles very well and have fantastic voices. I am not really looking forward to Rosalind James and Gareth Gates. Still, I don't want to be too biased. Maybe they'll surprise me. I'll probably write a review when I can, though knowing me, it will probably be a load of OMG!!!!!! Dshgkhjdffkjh SO FUCKING AWESOME!!1!

Today has been a great day so far. I was worried that I might have a panic attack in Science. I had one yesterday in R.E. which was triggered by a PETA video. Everyone knows all too well that a) I have anxiety and panic problems and b) have been a vegetarian all my life, so why they encouraged me to stay and watch; I don't know. I didn't even look at the video. I just couldn't bear the sounds of pain in the background. I spent most of that afternoon talking to Ms. Nelson, my mentor, which really helped . Anyway, I realized that I was panicking and managed to calm myself down. It was a good thing I did because I had History. I love History and we learnt about the night of the long knives. I learnt quite a bit about Ernst Roehm, the SA leader. I liked that fact that he had "revolutionary ideals" and that he died defiantly after being shot by an SS squadron.

I also was the only one who got 10/10 in my French test which I am very pleased about. It's a language I hardly know and only took because of Victor (and because my parents would have forced me anyway). English was definitely the best lesson of the day. I had given in my poem about Valentina Tereshkova and Sir was very positive about it. We also got to listen to various versions of Blowing In The Wind because of a line in the poem we were studying. Sir was very happy about this as I know he loves music, especially Bob Dylan and the Beatles. I think he even cried at one point. Unfortunately, the class kept getting Bob Dylan confused with John Lennon and asking who shot him. This amused me. And the class got hysterical at one point because Sir's hair was sticking up. He did look quite silly.

Gosh! I'm just so pleased and happy and excited. And I really hope my Mum'll enjoy it. She's currently loving the Brick at the moment, so I'm pretty sure she'll love the musical, too. She loves musicals.

valentina tereshkova, bob dylan, roehm, panic attacks, hilarious english lesson, les mis omg!
