[Alex grimaces at the sound, realizing that he very likely startled the poor guy if he was a new arrival to the Keep.

Yeah, it seems like the lot of us that aren't native to the Keep all showed up about four days ago .. Where have you been??

[His brows knit, wondering if this guys thinks he showed up with the rest but really didn't .. or if he did.]

[He shakes his head, a frown creasing his brow slightly. There didn't seem to be any pattern as to when they were taken..only that they all woke up here after the fact. Alright..next question.]

You speak Spanish .. Are you from Earth? [He quickly moves to continue, knowing how that likely sounds.] I know how weird a question that is, Nick, but .. not everyone here does. you're going to see some crazy shit once you leave your room and it's better you be ready for it.

[At least Alex has conceded that not everyone from Earth is necessarily from his Earth. It sucks to not know if anyone is, but he can't presume that Nick (or anyone else) is.]

[Alex pauses here and feels a bit of disappointment. True, he might have set himself up for Nick not being from his own Earth, but it still sucked to find out he really wasn't.

He takes in the other man's surprise and offers a slight smile, feeling bad.]

There should be a book in your room, a journal of sorts.. inside it there is a letter that will give you the run down. It's .. pretty out there, but believe me .. it's true. There are people in this place from all over .. different worlds and such. Non-humans and humans alike. Some that look human, but aren't..

[He trails off, running a hand through his hair just for something to do with his hand.]

It's .. all a bit like something out of a book or off the television, really. Straight off SyFy..

[Nick's voice sounds strained. Some of the experiments performed on the Misfits back home mutated them into horrible ugly creatures. There's a pang of guilt in his chest and he pauses to take a swig from his half empty bottle of moonshine.]

[Alex's pauses, looking confused and then he face palms.]

[At the question, the strain in Nick's voice is audible and Alex puts on a soft smile, his own tone gentle and soothing. Don't freak out, Nick .. it'll be okay.]

I haven't met a mean one of them yet, Nick. We're all in the same boat, here, you know?

[Nick pauses and hesitates until finally:]

[Alex's gentle smile remains and he tssks softly, shaking his head once.]

Nothing to apologize for, Nick .. the whole thing is a bit overwhelming. Go get some food and a change of clothes. Feel the place out a bit. I'm usually in the kitchen or hanging around somewhere. I'm more than happy to show you around or help you in any way I can.
