So I'm on the bored side again right now and decided to make a real livejournal entry. When was the last one I made? Around my birthday? Ughhh
I'm skipping a month to spring break. The Sunday after my break started I went to see Coraline with Amanda (Kaufman) and her little brother. It was nice, I enjoyed the movie a lot. I wish her mom had talked less in the car though. We were supposed to hang out in the mall before the movie but her mom was telling her a story in the car for like 45 minutes. D:
Uhhh I think the next thing I did on that break was hang around with Courtnie one day, which was mostly spent playing Psychonauts. A couple of days later both her and Amanda came over. More psychonauts and then we went to the mall with Devin. I bought nothing because I had no money. 8D We went back to Devin's for an hour before going home.
The next Wednesday after that I met up with Courtnie in the city and we went to see Utada Hikaru. We waited online for..four or five hours? My feet were destroyed by the end of it, but I got a couple of nice videos of her and some crappy pictures. You could definitely tell who was more excited to see her though, since Courtnie was shoving her way through the crowds to see her come in. XD It wouldn't even be worth it for me to try and do that, I'm way too short. XD We got dinner afterward at the Fridays across the street and then went home.
Last weekend I came home again to go to Icon with Courtnie. It was...an experience, to say the least. We roomed with some of the people from the Suffolk anime club. I thought, when I signed up to do this, "Oh, it's college, most of them have brains and are probably perfectly normal people!" since my anime club at Marist it generally made up of normal people. No. I forgot to compensate for the fact that it's a 'community' college. Fuck my life.
Three of them didn't seem all that bad at first, one grated my nerves from the start. (Yeah, there were six people in this room including me and Courtnie). Let's start with the one I didn't like from the start. She was very friendly, which at first was nice, because I didn't know anyone there. It quickly turned into too friendly when she started stroking my arm. I told her very bluntly to stop touching me. At least, for the most part, she listened. But she still managed to get on my nerves when she kept repeating the same things over and over again and when she said things that she though were the most hilarious things in the world, but they weren't. She reminded me of a girl I met at the beginning of senior year in my original gym class, who liked to talk to me about how hilarious castration is. I spent all period trying to get the fuck away from her. (She was the main reason I switched classes)
Onto the other three. Now, you would think that if these people are in the anime club that they would have some interest in going to the convention. No, they just wanted to lay around in the hotel room naked all day. It was creepy. One of them made breakfast the first morning we were there, which I thought was nice (although me and Courtnie couldn't stay to eat it) but afterward, they didn't clean it up! It was DISGUSTING. From that point on, Courtnie and I tried to spend as little time in the room as possible.
The convention itself was alright. I didn't really go in expecting anything and wasn't disappointed with what I got. Actually, I was quite happy because I found almost everything I was looking to buy. Friday night was purely shopping. I ended up buying a robot (from Gundam 00) called an
Overflag, which was a bitch to put together. It took chunks out of my nails. D: I also bought a poster for my room, a hat for Amanda, a bunch of little cell phone straps, a necklace, and a little figure I was missing from an anime called Gurren Lagann. Oh, and a keyholder, also from Gurren Lagann. And I couple of little Code Geass keychains. Yeah. ^^;
Saturday was spent doing volunteer work so we didn't have to pay to get in. Wasn't bad but not that exciting either. Then we went to a dance later that night.
This past weekend I haven't done anything with friends. I saw my Dad's side of the family on Saturday. My autistic cousin, Aiden, has come a long way since the last time I saw him. You wouldn't even know he was autistic. He took a liking to my dad and ended up playing with a balloon with him and driving Hotwheels cars all over him all night. XD I also saw his two-month-old little sister, and Emily and Christopher of course. Sunday was a visit to my mom's side of the family. Boring as ever. I spent most of the day talking to Ronny on the phone.
My anime interest is in a downward swing again, but it really doesn't stop me from watching anything. :/ I saw the first episode of the
new Fullmetal Alchemist series and I'm not going to be able to stop watching that now, it's so nostalgic. ;o; I watched an interesting show called
Kaiba while I was at school. This past week I had started watching a show called
Kuroshitsuji which, as the part of the name I bolded implies, is total shit.
I want to watch Baccano again and buy the DVDs of it. I have $80 of spending money right now including the 20 Courtnie has of mine, but I want to save it for AnimeNEXT in June. :(
I haven't been playing any games lately, due to schoolwork. I got Pokemon Platinum recently because I saw it used and I like Pokemon enough to buy the same game over and over again. :P I also still have Courntie's Psychonauts (and I'm still in the asylum, shush). Now I want to play Kingdom Hearts again due to a certain person who has been mentioned a million times in this entry already...
