I had a bit of an abrupt wake-up call at 7:30 this morning. I heard Lottie making much more of a rumble and fuss than she typically does in the mornings.
So I got up, go to the living room, and who do I see out of the corner of the window?
Lil Romeo.
I was ecstatic. With our lowest temperatures this past week breaking records (lowest temps in over 20 years), having not seen him since well before Christmas (if not Thanksgiving), and never being certain if he has a home.... well, let's just say I'm pleased as punch to see that Lil Romeo is surviving the winter unharmed and relatively healthy looking.
If he comes back any time soon, I'm going to put a heaping bowl of kitten nibble outside to help sustain him during the chilly nights.
Lottie was, naturally, very pleased to see him as well. Especially after so long!
If I knew for certain he were homeless, and I knew I could catch him, I would likely bring Lil R in as her litter mate.
