I was woken up at 5 a.m. last night. I only know this because I failed in my efforts not to look at the clock (when I wake up, I try not to look at the clock; if I do, I know what time it is, and if it's after 6, I have a hard time going back to sleep....).
What was it that woke me?
I hear a cat mew or a screech. I hear a twack, and the sound of paws against glass. This only concerns me because my living room window is open an inch & half (any more and Lottie tries to climb the screen). I figure the dipshit tried to climb the screen and got her head tangled in the blinds or its cord. Because this wouldn't be the first, or second, time this has happened.
So I stumble out to the living room, and against the street lights, see Lotties long body stretched up the length of the window, next to the open inch. I figure she did get caught somehow, and push the curtain aside to find...
Romeo the cat, sitting on the window ledge across from her. Apparently the window open made her feel a little bit nutty, probably because she could smell him/her through it.
I shut the window and let the two go on cooing with one another through the window.
I'm quite aware, as well, of when Romeo left. It must have been about an hour later, because Lottie came in the room very happy, very pleased. She jumped on the bed and demanded to be pet over and over again. This must have lasted between 15-30 minutes.
