1. After much seeking, I found my beloved John Fluevog Hildegard boots, in a size 9.5, at the Boston store. I was so excited to receive them today!

Only to find out that, despite having a lace-up style, they do not, in fact, lace up. Consequently, they do not fit over my calves. Why would you make a lace-up boot without the lace-up option?

At least this means that, once I return them, I will be substantially richer than I was before.

2. I'm pretty sure my eyesight is going. For the last two days, my eyes have been crossing and dizzying when I spend more than a few minutes at the computer. They do so also when I read. My head has been hurting and filled with tension. Therefore, I will be visiting the eye doctor soon.

3. Sometimes I really, really like my internship. Like when I get to do really cool things.

4. I feel that I have been shopping a lot, which I don't know that I necessarily like. However, I feel that what I am buying are good investments or needed pieces. Not to mention, most of what I have been buying has been at a wonderfully discounted cost. Today I got a knee length wool coat (a big snug) and a down parka, both by Kenneth Cole, for about $130 total. Recently I bought two light weight jackets as well.

5. I'm really fed up with winter weather. I try not to be too disappointed because, as Gir pointed out, the weather is supposed to be like this. This doesn't mean that I tire of snow and freezing winds. Or baffling days like Monday, that went something like "Sun & Blue Skies! Grey Skies! Snow & Heavy Wind! Snow, Heavy Wind, & Sun & Blue Skies! Mix, Match, Repeat!"

Frankly, paying for a gym membership doesn't do much good when Gir's car doors are frozen shut every morning and we cannot go.

6. The tiny top hat I have been creating has been going well (other than not knowing what I will do with it afterwards).

7. This past weekend I managed to seduce Gir in to going to Joann's with me (!!!), where I gloriously picked up uber sale pieces. Like 6 yards of this fantastic vibrant blue lace at $1.50 a yard (akra_brigid, I am sure you know the one and are cringing as I type.); three Wendy Mullins' patterns; new sewing scissors; craft wire; two brocades, one for a vest and the other not determined; a lot of green half-linen for a summer dress of sorts.

the circus is coming to town, she's crafty & just my type, the weather girl
