Steve Irwin
I was never a fan of Steve Irwin. But then, I didn't not like him either. He was mostly "just that Nutty Aussie guy" to me.
I've never watched a single one of his shows, and it's not until his passing that I realize what a fixture he really was. Even at the fringes of my world.
I remember completely busting up at his Fedex tv ad at 3:00 in the morning* I always appreciate when someone like that can poke fun at themselves.
Hearing the news I was sad, and after thinking about it for a while, I feel terribly sorry for his children. His youngest especially, who will have few if any memories of "daddy".
I'm sure that had he continued to live, I would have eventually learned the the Magic of the Crocodile Hunter. But now I'm sorry that Kasey will never know a world with Steve Irwin.
