Arashi Shirts Dekita!!!

Apr 16, 2010 21:58

Its been months since I started out with this project and now its finally complete!!! Meet my Arashi shirts!!!

I made personalized Arashi fan shirts!!! Well, they're for family members and a few friends (who also love Arashi). I started this project since I've always felt bad that I couldn't get Arashi's concert goods (aside from the fact that they're expensive) and I also thought that it would be a nice way of getting my creative juices flowing. All of the designs are drawn by me (with a little help from my boyfriend). I conceptualized and did the layout for everything as well. I can't exactly say that I'm the best when it comes to drawing. I know that there are a lot more people better than me (expecially when it comes to fan art!!!), but I'm trying to learn right now and so this is good practice.

My cousins, sister and I are all in love with Arashi (I Arashi-fied them as well) and its a good thing that there are 5 of us too. So each of us gets to pick a design according to our ichibans (well, not exactly. I'll explain later). The shirts are color-coded, so each member's design goes on their respective shirt "color".

My older sister in her Mirror Man Shirt

So Aiba is actually my sister's niban, but she got this to make way for our youngest whose ichiban is Ohno (they have the same favorites). I always find it hilarious when Aiba is in "Mirror Man" mode and to quote Becky, I agree that he "shines most while being Mirror Man". He's funny and so tensai at the same time.

Me with the World's Greatest Magician

OK, so Nino is my least favorite. But it doesn't take away from the fact that he's a very talented magician. My shirt says "Sekai no No. 1 Magician" which translates to World's No.1 Magician. I decided to go with playing cards since he does most of his tricks with cards.

Cousin #1 has Perfect Body to keep her company

It was so funny when Sho tries to speak with an American accent. Since he DOES have the perfect body, I decided to incorporate the two together. He's so cute when he flexes his biceps!!!! Though Sho is my ichiban, Cousin #1 gets to have him since she's younger than me.

Cousin #2 in Yabai-Yabai-Yabai

Cousin #2 was lucky enough not to share ichibans with anyone else. So she didn't have to fight anyone to get this design. I think this shirt personifies Jun's creativity and boldness. He's always up for a challenge and I think his Yabai-Yabai-Yabai perfomace back in 2007 best illustrates those qualities. I personally love this shirt. I actually think that this is the best design among the 5. It's so colorful and bright and fun!

Lastly, Cousin #3 gets to have Pan Ya-san Ohno

Our baby's (the youngest) favorite is Ohno so of course she picked this design. I find it incredibly amusing that Arashi's leader wants to own his own bake shop in the future (I actually think that he can do that now, if he wanted. He wouldn't be a hands-on boss though, with his idol duties lurking about him). I imagine that Ohno would look this way if he really were a Pan Ya-san (Mr. Baker).

I'm thinking of sharing these shirts with other fans as well, since I already have the materials for the shirt (like paint, screens etc.). It would be sad to see them go to waste. Maybe I could sell them too? It would be great if I could give my mom back the money she spent for these. So if you're interested, drop me a comment or a message and we'll see how it goes from there.
Comments about the designs and the project are most welcome. I'd love to know what you guys thiink. :D But no wanking please.
