Hey Cassie,

What yesterday was about is this... Steph and I got divorced back in April, but we stayed living together until the end of our lease because we were getting along so well and it was all we could afford to do. This past week, I got my dad's pick up truck working, and I spent the week moving Steph out to her new place in Madison, and me to my new place near Lake Geneva, where I will be renting a house with my sister Amy as my roommate. Yesterday, Aug. 1st, the lease ended and we were completely moved out, making it the end of me and Steph living together, and inside, it was tearing me apart. On top of that, Amy and her boyfriend called me half way through the day and told me that they didn't have ANY of the rent money for the new place that they said they would have, and *I* had to be the one to go talk to the landlord in Lake Geneva and solve the problem. I had plans for about a month to go see 'The Crest' (JT's hip hop group) in Chicago last night, but Amy totally fucked that up, ruining what I wanted to be a happy ending to a very hard day. I am now in Chicago so I can draw caricatures at Ed Debevic's until I've earned the rest of the rent money that my unemployed sister didn't have. I left my laptop at home in Lake Geneva so Amy can get online and apply for jobs. Yesterday was really bad a sucked a lot, and I cried a lot when no one else was around.

Steph wanted me to keep quiet online as far as our divorce goes, so I publicly haven't mentioned it directly. That will change soon, as I feel I no longer have any obligation to her to keep my new single-ness a secret. So, Cassie, my dear sweet good friend, please don't feel in the dark about the details of my life, I kept the details from many people for a very long time, but now that's over. Also, I've been avoiding the internet as much as I could the past few weeks just to keep myself from being distracted while I finished the tasks of (1.) getting the new album done, and (2.) moving out. Now that they are done, I have more time to be free, to relax, and to type internet things and call my friends. I miss you and I care about you, and I hope your life is going well and that you are happy.
