The weather was warm enough for proper fishing and so Asato was standing in the lake, water lapping at his stomach, following the movements of fish with his eyes. Standing still, he was allowing them to get closer and closer, before lashing out and snapping one up in his hands.
He was beaming and setting the fish aside in a reed woven basket he'd strapped to his back. Gifts of food were one way of courting, right? Did humans do that as well?
