It's finished!
About a month from when I cast on and until I mailed it today. My first cardigan (babysized) is done and already on it's way to it's recipient.
My nephew is now just over three weeks old. He is so cute, I wish I could see him in person! I don't know who knit what he's wearing in the picture... but it's apparently what the father (my brother) wore on his way home from the hospital. I am also glad I didn't end up knitting a blanket (apart from the fact that it would have taken a lot longer...) because I think one of the grandmas ended up knitting one. And no, he doesn't have a name yet, it's not customary to name babies until they're a little older in my culture.
I am a big fan of the button... although wise people warned me that it might not be super kid friendly. I sent it off to the parents, however, leaving it up to their discretion. The little sheep is so cute!
And here you can see my Bangsi as the model. Isn't he cute??
Pattern is
Vintage Baby Cardigan by Kristin Spurkland, ShibuiKnits Sock yarn, with 3.25mm bamboo circular needles. The pattern calls for 3 skeins, but I only used two, with a tiny ball of yarn left. I really enjoyed this pattern, especially after I figured the structure out! I kept confusing CO and BO and it didn't make any sense that I was supposed to bind off where the sleeves were supposed to start... thankfully it all worked out ;)
and now I shall go to bed, and when I wake up I will be 24. Although I'm technically 24 already, seeing as it's after midnight, and also because it's already tomorrow in Iceland, where I was born. Happy birthday to me!
