"The RR Manuscripts"

RR Manuscript 6: Positive Event Production

As a premis of this paticular manuscript, one of 15 or 18 that are encompessed in my book "The RR Manuscripts," I explore the ideal of positive event production. I guess a brief discription of what PEP is would be useful in understanding applications.
"Positive Event Production - the ability for a person to bring real happyness to there lives by creating events that lead to additional positive events." - (useful to think of this as pro-active emotions)
There countless ways and reasons that we find ourselves down, lonely, frusrtated and afraid of life and what it has instore for us. Often we find ourselves in a rut, with no forseable way of getting out, but inevitably we do. The question is how? What is it that allows us to look up from the bottom of our hole and say there is a way to the top and I found it. Is this observation conscious or sub-conscious. It is my contention that it is both but if we can activly focus on events and become more perceptive, we can accomplish two things. First, we are able to recognise the events that have lead us to the point we find ourselves and second, by the use of positive event production, we can limit how far we fall. Often when one seeks professional assitance, recognition has taken place. I have never been a big fan of psychologists in the clinical sense for a several reasons, and one of them is they dont want to deal with the issue head on! Rarely are people given just due credit for thier strength, in dealing with the issues they do. Because of this people are lead down many roads including medications, to put these things out of there mind because they are seen to be to week to deal. The fact is they are dealing, and while this may provide temporary releif how often do clients come back 6 months, a year, 3 years down the road because something in there life has brought about a resurfecing of those events? You can relate this idea to being locked in a room with several ways to get out only none of them allow you to actually escape? You try to crawl out the wall size window, only to find that your head and arm cant fit out. When you break out the floor it just gets thicker and thicker. You turn to go out the door but the closer you get to it the further it goes away. But then something happens. As the wall or issue looks at you in the face, you realise the only way to get out is to break the wall down, you comfront it head on, until you find your self on the other side free and releived of the issue. There will be times when that issue comes back and it will, that is something that we need to understand. But when it does, we can gain immense strength by knowing we have once delt with it, making it easier and easier as it comes up. Our concern then becomes how do we use positive event production, to accomplish this.
The over all thought that is expressed in the rest of the manuscript deals with ways to recognise, focus and impliment these things in our lives.
