[Two-Shot] Us - A JinNo Side Story

Notes: This is a side story from Unexpected Gift. I wrote this while coming up with ideas for the fic.
2005
"Uepi!" Junno ran up to his bestfriend, and secret love, who was buying drinks for the group from the vending machine. "I found this great new yakiniku place near your apartment. Want to check it out tonight?"
"I could never say no to you Jun." Ueda smiled as Junno helped him carry the drinks.
"I never thought I'd see the day." Ryo smirked from across the hall.
"What do you want Nishikido?" Ueda rolled his eyes as Ryo and Yamapi approached them.
"I was just surprised that someone actually asked you out donkey face." Ryo then turned to look at Junno. "Really Taguchi, you can do much better than fish lip here."
"Would you care to to tell me what kind of person I would want Nishikido-kun?" Junno grit his teeth behind his bright smile.
"You can have someone with much more talent Taguchi. Someone who could actually sing and dance. You're a very talented idol. Its a waste to see you with someone who doesn't even know who he is."
Junno could see from the corner of his eye that Ueda was already turning pale and that his eyes were getting red. Junno laughed softly, grabbed Ueda's hand, and gave Ryo the brightest smile he can muster.
"Thank you for your concern Nishikido-kun but I think you don't know me well enough to judge that." Junno then held Ueda's hand tighter and pulled him back to their dressing room.
"You can come out now bakanishi." Ryo said once the two were out of ear shot.
Jin sighed deeply and stepped out from behind the pillar and walked up to his bestfriends. He couldn't help but chew on his lip while he watched Junno comfort the crying Ueda as they walked away.
"You okay Jin?" Yamapi asked as Ryo handed them some drinks.
"I don't know Pi. Why doesn't he notice me?" Jin sighed as he took a sip of his drink.
"Well, let me see." Ryo pretended to think. "Maybe because that fairy boy is the only one not bullying him? C'mon bakanishi. Do you honestly think Taguchi would even spare you some attention if you and Tanaka always gang up on him?"
"You do it to Tat-chan." Jin whined.
"I don't like Ueda you baka!"
"You two stop it." Yamapi sighed. "You really should stop the bullying Ryo-chan. You already apologized on live TV for goodness sake. Jin, why don't you just tell him? I mean, you've known each other for so long now and I don't believe that he only sees you as another person who bullies him."
"I don't know Pi. Maybe someday."
2006
"You're leaving?! I can't fucking believe this Akanishi! We just debuted and you're already abandoning us?" Koki pushed Jin onto the wall.
"I have to do this for myself!" Jin sighed. "I need to clear my head and answer some questions. I need this."
"What about us Jin?" Kame asked quietly. "Did you ever think about what would happen to us when you leave? Yes, you said it would only be 6 months but you know how this industry works. Just one minute could make or break a career. Now you're risking yours and pulling us down with you. We were named KAT-TUN for a reason you know."
"Just tell me this Akanishi." Ueda said as he strummed his guitar without looking at Jin. "If given another chance, would you still choose this over us?"
"Yes."
"Then good riddance." Ueda stood up and left the room.
"Uepi, wait!" Junno tried to stop Ueda but was pushed aside.
"I hope you're happy Jin." Kame said as he and Koki followed Ueda out.
"Guys! We need to talk about this!" Junno said and was ignored.
"I'm sorry." Jin said as he finally let go of the tears he was holding back. "I'm so sorry."
"I don't know why you're doing this Jin." Maru said as he pulled the crying Jin to sit on the couch. "It's hurting all of us but if you think that this is what's best for you then do it."
"Just, promise us this Jin." Junno said as he knealt down in front of Jin and held his hands while Maru left the room. "Don't regret this and come back to us once you get your answers. Promise that you'll come back to us happier than you are now."
"I promise." Jin smiled softly through his tears as Junno hugged him tight. He then looked up as Junno pulled away with a soft smile. "Junno, will you accompany me and Maru at the press conference? Its important to me for you to be there."
"Why me?" Junno asked softly.
"Because you're special to me."
2007
"You didn't keep your promise." Junno said as he and Jin were heading to the Yuukan Club filming.
"I came back to the group didn't I?" Jin said quietly.
"You promised that you'd be happier than you were before you left and now you're not happy at all." Junno sighed and looked out the window. "Did you at least get some answers to your questions?"
"Yes." Jin sighed and closed his eyes. "I got my answers about a month after I left but I'm not sure about what I should do."
"Everything will work out in the end. It always does." Junno smiled softly and grabbed his bag as they arrived at the location.
"I doubt it but I hope you're right." Jin sighed as they got off the van and headed to their personal dressing rooms.
"Oh Jin! I forgot to tell you something." Junno turned and looked at Jin who was looking at anywhere but him.
"What?"
"I miss you and your smile." Junno's voice was so sad and caused Jin to look at him. "Please come back soon."
Jin stood there with wide eyes and a rapidly beating heart as Junno entered his dressing room.

They just finished filming Cartoon KAT-TUN Yuukan Club SP with Minami and were waiting in their dressing room for their manager so they could head to the filming of a new PV. Junno was fixing his things when Ueda tapped his shoulder and suddenly bowed before him.
"Please go out with me." Ueda said and caused Junno to drop what he was holding.
The whole room became quiet at what Ueda said. Kame and Koki stopped talking and painting their nails, Maru stopped reading his magazine, and Jin stopped strumming his guitar. Everyone, except for Jin who was gripping his guitar tightly, was looking at Ueda and Junno.
"Uepi...I..." Junno stammered as he looked into Ueda's eyes and saw the love and sincerity in them.
"I...I know this is sudden but I really really like you Jun. You were always there for me in good times and in bad. You never left me to face my problems alone and you really cared for me. I've been thinking about this for months and I've tried to deny it but I can't take it anymore. I like everything about you. You smile, your voice, even your lame jokes, everything makes my heart skip a beat everytime." Ueda bit his lip and held Junno's hands. "Junnosuke, will you go out with me?"
"Uepi, I wou..."
Junno was about to say yes when he made the mistake to look up and caught Jin looking at him. He could see the same love in Jin's eyes as what he saw in Ueda's but it was drowning in hurt. He felt his heart break and he was confused as to why. He loves Ueda, but if that was true why is his heart breaking when he saw that this was hurting Jin?
"Jun?" Ueda asked when he saw Junno freeze.
"I...I'm sorry!" Junno grabbed his bag and ran out the dressing room as fast as his legs could carry him.
Ueda just stood there and watched as Junno ran out. He could feel his eyes water at the thought that he ruined something that only he and Junno had. he stood there for 10 whole minutes before Maru approcahed him and led him to sit on the couch. He sighed, slumped down, and closed his eyes.
"He...he doesn't like me, does he?" Maru rubbed Ueda's shoulder when he heard the latter's voice crack.
"On the contrary Tat-chan, he's been in love with you since we first became a unit." Jin said as he stood up and grabbed a change of clothes.
"And how do you know that Akanishi?" Ueda asked softly
"Because I've been in love with him for just as long." Jin answered as he headed to the showers.

"Jun! Let's go out for lunch!"
"Junno! I brought you a bento!"
"Keep it Akanishi. Jun's coming with me. He already had dinner with you last night."
"That's because you treat him to lunch for 3 days in a row so I will still give him his bento."
"You get to be with him for filming most of the time anyway."
"You got to be close to him for 6 years. Its my turn."
"He's coming with me!"
"He's eating the bento!"
"STOP!" Junno glared at the two and took a deep breath. "I'm going with Yucchi."
The two watched as Junno dragged a clueless Maru out of the dressing room. They then turned to glare at each other before stomping back to their respective places.
"This is fun!" Koki whispered to Kame. "Who do you think Taguchi would choose?"
"Tat-chan of course. He's been head over heels for Tat-chan since forever." Kame smirked.
"Then he would've already answered Uepopu a week ago." Koki said as he rolled his eyes. "I think Akanishi's making a development."
"He's still closer to Tat-chan. Junno's just confused because he's with Jin most of the time for the drama." Kame pointed out with a pout.
"Wanna bet on it? Loser has to make out with Tegoshi." Koki smirked
"You're on." Kame said with a smile.
