While walking home today I walked by a few free newspaper boxes and got attracted to the decay and tags on them, although I ranted about tags in the past because that dicko one was huge and obnoxious and didn't add any artistic value to the wall it was tagged on, these tags stood out to me because of their color combos, humor and overall statement.
This midweek photo story is Tag you're it!
Stop Rape!
I was walking through this amazing side street with all these historic houses on it and at the end of the alley I saw this sign and exclaimed out loud, 'That's amazing!'
I've always seen pics of people vandalizing stop signs, but to see one in person with such a strong statement was awesome.
Color combos
One of the reasons that I like to take photos is because it makes you pay attention to all that stuff that you'd usually just walk by and ignore.
I love all the bold colors that came out of this shoot.
Humor
Through this photostory I noticed a lot of humor and some bold statements.
People can get creative lol.
Color combos
The PW is the Philadelphia Weekly, a weekly free newspaper that covers local news and events. I kinda dig now this person did this lime green on yellow motif.
Ghost
I've seen this tag before on a postal service box at the corner from where I live, it was there for a good while before they finally painted it over.
Urban decay
Although I find tagging to be stupid, it can lead to some interesting textures and photographic visual interest over time.
The City Paper is another free weekly newspaper that is way better written than the Philadelphia Weekly.
WHALE!
This one of is outside my favorite corner shop.
These people do a good job with these color combos most of the time, pink and brown! That's the color scheme I'm going to use for spring whenever I finally have time to make a new layout.
MORE!
This one was in a parking garage, I thought it was nice big bold and daring statement. But what does it say above the O? Bake or Rape? I can agree with more baking but not raping. I'll have to walk by there today again to figure it out. I didn't notice it when I took the pic yesterday.
Twerp
Twerp has quite a few tags around town, I haven't seen anymore of Dicko though
This one is on the ground on some artifact left over from the Philadelphia colonial days.
SHOCK!
I think this is either someone's gas meter or their electric power box.
