Happy birthday, winteresque!

You're such a lucky girl. <3 Maybe you're pre-destined to become a KAT-TUN fangirl since you were born on the day when three of its members entered Johnny's Jimusho. XDDD

... And that would be the cue to say...

HAPPY 9TH ANNIVERSARY, AKAMEMARU! ♥♥♥ (Kame-chan during his Burberry obsessing days. LOL)

Ehem, here's a ficlet. LOL

Title: Shopping
Fandom: Johnny's Entertainment
Characters: Akanishi Jin/Kamenashi Kazuya + T-TUN
Theme: #03 - Shopping
Rating: G
Summary: Kame meets Jin when he goes shopping one day.
A/N: This ficlet is written for Akamemaru's anniversary, although it's more about Akame than about Nakama... It's not about Nakama at all. *sighs* This is actually not the real fic I wrote for Akamemaru's anniversary, but since I couldn't get the real fic done on time I thought "Who cares?" and worked more on this ficlet. XD

Shopping

Kame decides to go shopping on the day he's off. Tomorrow is a special day after all, he thinks.

Shortly after entering the male section of Dior flagship store at Ginza, which interior he knows quite well being a regular costumer, he has already picked out a shirt that is to his liking, and examines it with scrutinizing eyes. He frowns upon realizing that all the ones he sees are either too big or too small for him.

Just when he's thinking about asking someone he hears some of the ladies at counter B muttering, pointing at him occasionally. He suspects that they are talking about him and suddenly he doesn't feel like asking them to get him a shirt of the right size. It must be the way their chatter sounds like. While still holding onto the shirt that doesn't fit him, he turns away, and looks around the shop.

Just in time Kame spots a man from behind. Said man has just returned from the changing rooms with a lot of clothes.

“Excuse me, sir,” Kame says to him, thinking that he looks rather congenial. “Do you happen to have a smaller size of this -”

“Sorry, but I’m not working here,” says the man, who is taller than he is, and turns around.

A moment of awkward silence passed through when they face each other.

“... Oh, Jin,” says Kame startled, and blushes at his mistake.

“You here?” asks Jin, eyeing Kame through his thick sunglasses. “What a coincidence.”

“Yeah, what a coincidence,” Kame replies, smiling. It is indeed rare to meet Jin while shopping for clothes at a place like this.

“Did you just mistake me for someone working at this place?” Jin asks, putting back more clothes.

“I’m sorry, I…”

“It’s cool,” Jin grins, adjusting his sunglasses and then his cap. “You've probably only seen my back.”

“True,” Kame says in response.

They fall silent for a while as Kame watches Jin completing his task of returning more of the unwanted clothes. Kame notices that the clothes are not merely men’s clothes. He shifts around uncomfortably.

In the end he draws in a deep breath and asks, “Are you here with your girlfriend?”

“Hm. I wonder too,” says Jin thoughtfully.

Kame looks at him weirdly, “So -”

“Kame,” says Jin, interrupting him. “I don’t really want to talk about it.”

“Okay,” Kame mutters, and suddenly he misses the old days when Jin would tell him everything, and he would also tell him everything in return. Those days seemed long ago.

“Are you going to buy that shirt?” Jin changes the topic suddenly, snapping Kame out of his thoughts.

“Shirt?” Kame looks up. “You mean this one?”

“Yeah, that one.”

“I was, but it’s not the right size… Wait, you might be able to wear it,” says Kame and holds the shirt in front of Jin. “Yeah, it will definitely look good on you.”

“You think so?”

“Yeah,” Kame nods.

Jin thinks for a moment, then he takes the shirt from Kame.

“Wait here, I’ll try it on first,” he says.

When he's about to go to the dressing room to get changed, they hear a female voice calling out to Jin.

“Jin-kun?” it says.

“Ah, sorry, I think I should be leaving now.” Kame says hurriedly.

“Oi, wait -”

Kame rushes out of the store without looking back.

Jin tries on the shirt - and yes, it does suit him very well. But Kame is not around to see it anymore. His female companion (not future-to-be-girlfriend. He has come to the conclusion that they will only stay friends. Jin wonders whether it has something to do with Kame's sour expression when he heard her voice, but it can't be, can it?) is also complimenting him.

But for some reason, he wants to hear Kame's compliment. ‘Yeah, it looks good on you, I told you.’ He wants to hear him say that. It has to be Kame. He doesn't know why, but it has to be Kame. In the end, Jin buys the shirt.

He wears the shirt to work the next day. However, Kame only cast one look at him, said his obligatory ‘Good morning’ and nothing else. No more word about his new clothes, which he (sort of) picked for him, and no word about their unexpected meeting at the store yesterday. It was as if he has already forgotten about it, or as if it was something no one ought to talk about since it was embarrassing.

Jin isn't going to go straight towards him and ask him whether the shirt he picked out looked good on him or not. That would be embarrassing.

As a result, Jin just becomes very moody, and stops talking to Kame altogether, although he remembers that today is the day of their anniversary of becoming a Johnny's. Kame, him and Nakamaru. He's afraid that he's the only one to remember that.

T-TUN’s secret meeting.

“What happened this time?”

“I don’t know.”

“How long will it last this time?”

“I wonder about it, too.”

“They’ve been on and off like that for how long?”

“I don’t remember.”

They all heave a sigh.

“When are they going to, you know, realize?”

“… Maybe never.”

“Oh geez.”

The secret meeting ends abruptly when Kame and Jin poke their heads inside the dressing room.

“What’s the matter, guys?” Kame asks curiously.

“Nothing,” they reply in unison, and relief shows up on all the faces when they see Akakame entering the room together.

Things brighten up even more after Jin handed Kame a tiny present box and Kame invited him to eat ramen as returning the favor. (In the end they all went to celebrate.)

End

A/A/N: I forgot to add this A/N at the end. D: Anyway. The KAT-TUN I wrote about in this ficlet are still younger. You can picture them as the present KAT-TUN, but they were still younger in my mind. Whatever works best for you, I'd say. XD

Another thing I'd like to mention here is that I LOVE the Dior flagship store at Ginza, designed by SANAA (Sejima And Nishizawa And Associates). It's so pretty at day and at night! I love modern buildings with milky/translucent or transparent glass surfaces. ♥ I would go to Japan just to see that building! ♥
