EDIT3: SO. I found my old issues of One Pound Gospel and started re-reading them. There's this HILARIOUS scene which I hope will be kept in the drama adaptation!
Kosaku (the boxer) meets the nun Angela during jogging and tells her that he'll be in an Eight-round match, and later that day, Angela is in the church, praying in front of the statue of the Virgin Mary.
Angela: "Dear Lord, I don't quite understand this "eight-rounder" of his... But please bestow your blessings on... WHAT?! The blessed Virgin is weeping?!"
(you see a pic of the statue with a tear running down her cheek)
The other nuns hear about this and storm the church.
Mother Abbess: "Tears?! On the face of the Holy Mother?!"
Nun: "Mother Abbess! Could it be a sign from the Lord?"
Angela thinks to herself: "Oh, Mary Mother of God, is it Kosaku whom you weep for?"
Mother Abbess (serious face): "Ah, praise to you, Mother Mary. Now I see the meaning of this message..."
(Water frops down on the statue)
Mother Abbess: "'Fix the roof!'"
Nun: "Aiee! It's leaking!!"
