Mini-vacation weekend and its aftermath

Thursday to Sunday last week, we went down to Florida to visit with family. It was at a nice spot in Pompano, at a lighthouse that I have plenty of pictures of.
The vacation itself was nice, and relaxing. It was interrupted by a few bumps, but all in all a lot of fun.
We had called the wedding consultants after we arrived on Thursday to confirm last minute things with our guest list, only to find out that they also wanted date of birth and ID information for all our guests that were not going on the cruise with us. Needless to say, this was a little panicing since we were supposed to fax them the final list that day. Well, we did manage to get an extention to today, but the ID thing was annoying.
The rest of the weekend was fun. We saw a lot of family, partied, and relaxed on the beach for a while. Relaxing is a lot of work.
One of the nights, my glasses suddenly broke. It was a freak occurence, since I was literrally just sitting there when it happened. I had to shell out over a hundred for a 'cheapo' pair of glasses to get me home, which hurt the wallet. I also got occassional phone calls from work, which I had to remind them that I was unable to help them out there. But all in all, it was a great weekend.

Fast forward to Sunday night, arrived back at home, and we are still trying to get ID information from people to send in. We actually got a little bit of push back from our guests about the strange turn of events, but we had nothing else to do about it.

Then move to Monday, where things pile on me from work due to my being gone for two days. The entire work day was spent putting out fires and patching up every broken thing that apparently can't survive without me. I fear that they won't be able to survive with my being gone for 2.5 weeks in November for the wedding. I managed to get things together for the most part though, and gave the wedding consultants a call.

I decided to give them a bit of 'what for' for giving us such a horrible task so late in the game. The good news is that they gave me until the end of the month to gather all the information I need, but they still require the ID information regardless.
I also called my eye doctor and found that I had a 2 year warranty on my glasses. They even had a replacement pair waiting for me.

So, a lot of mess, but most of it was cleaned up in the end.
I'll have pictures of the lighthouse up soon.
