We'll Call It a Draw

I am trying to do my part financially, without driving myself further insane by doing work that I do not like, at a place where I do not fit in (for the record, that is almost every place). People are weird when you're different on purpose. Like, OMG she shaves her HEAD? They treat you differently. And most people are so hung up on inane bullshit..I just have nothing in common with them. This was driven home to me while I was at the law firm. People are weird.

I digress.

Anyway, I've been selling art like crazy, or at least attempting to. Per usual, it's a feast or it's a famine. Some stupid expense will happen when you least expect it, and true to form, that is what happened. My dear husband had a dental emergency that set us back a pretty good chunk of change, right before the holidays! Awesome! *Rends things* I put out a call on FB for art requests, and one of my dear friends did indeed commission a dragon. Most people, when they commission art from me, are very specific about it. I WANT A RED DRAGON DOING THIS THING AND IT SHOULD BE A BOY DRAGON, ETC. But this guy was like, yeah, I don't care, a blue dragon.

That is really, really difficult. I have NO idea what is in your head that you want on paper unless you tell me. But I fiddled around for a couple of days and came up with a dragon for him.

My friend loved it. In fact, he cried. I win!! And I got three more commissions. That happens sometimes..someone will see a drawing and they'll decide, Hey, I want one sort of like that! And it is good. Now that the holidays are over with, I need to come up with something other than handmade ornaments to sell on eBay. Yee haw.

Happy Holidays!
