Just when I thought my braces had long since stopped bugging me for good, THE @#%&!@#% wire starts poking. THE SHARP END POKED SO MUCH IT BLED. Yes, that is truly disgusting. I absolutely cannot wait to be free of this egregious metal contraption.
I swear, I hope parents write in or call the school to complain about our ridiculous Chem PT. Firstly, it has practically nothing whatsoever to do with Chemistry. It's just one stupid chemical reaction. Big deal. Everything else has to do with Physics (Hello, Newton's laws? Ideal gas laws?). And what's more, the concentration in each tin of baking powder is DIFFERENT. That means you can measure and weigh and run as many test trials as you want, but you'll never be able to reach the same distance even if you don't change the amount of vinegar or baking powder you use. Secondly, I can safely say that each group has spent close to S$50 on vinegar and baking powder alone. We have spent so much money on these two condiments that local supermarts are starting to RUN OUT OF THEM. RAAAAAAAAAAAARGH I HATE THIS STUPID CHEM PT TO DEATH! DEATH!
Right. I think I have vented enough for the day.
Today was Ms Leow's highly-anticipated Raffles Book Day. Also the History structured essay test on the Russian Revolution. Ms Leow should be really proud of our class for being so enthusiastic about it (anyway, we couldn't afford to disappoint her as her English class after she waxed lyrical about the joys of celebrating RBD). We chose a good book. So many Sec 1 and 2 classes were just wearing what looked like outside clothes. I bet they chose boring books on purpose, hah. Anyway, The Phantom Tollbooth was great because of the amazing diversity of the characters. And contrary to popular belief, I was not a King again. I was supposed to be Princess Rhyme. Pfft. Talk about generalisations. I must say, having Raffles Book Day was a great way to take our mind off History. And the tests in the weeks to come. I don't think I heard any 412-er talking about schoolwork (which, I stress, is a great rarity) after recess.
Woohoo, Chem EOI on Monday! I am not prepared, to say the least. I don't think anyone knows what's been going on for Chem for the past four months. I'm just going to chiong it out this weekend, since I've already decided to devote it purely to Chem(isery). May we not screw it up, since our Chem PT is already obscurely dredged in the recesses of doom. I can't wait - only one and a half academic terms left! That's pretty fast. Of course, we still have HCL Os and continue Math in Term 4, but according to what last year's Sec 4s said, it's gonna be a lot slacker than the usual school term. Yay for Options.
Right... off to finish the last question of Assignment 2 for Math. Go go go Trigonometry III - Double Angle Formulae!
