OMG MIXTAPE

No, really. I can't even. Just. OMG MIXTAPE.

Additionally, here are my New To My Collection reviews for this week.

The Airborne Toxic Event - Does This Mean You’re moving On?
I think this is good, but it's not my thing - Reminds me of The Strokes, though, for those of you who are into that kind of thing.

Alesana - Where Myth Fades to Legend
I wish they were this good in concert. Especially after hearing the album version of Seduction, which I remember them playing at Warped, I’m pretty sure the sound was off at the show. (Also, the crowd + old guy in pit) I’m not sure how - contrary to what you may have heard, I am not, in fact, a sound engineer - I think something was too low. The album version is WAY better, which I’m going to attribute to the fact that it was Warped and not to the band’s live performance abilities. At least not until I see them in another venue. (HINT Tour Cincinnati Dammit HINT) I’ll give it a 6/10 - Just slightly better than average. Like a lot of screaming albums, it just seems like they’re trying to hard.

JJ Grey & Mofro - Orange Blossoms
Bluesy. Zune classifies it as rock, but we all know I have issues with Zune’s classification system. It’s really closer to bluesy rock. Reminds me of Black Keys with less distortion. Especially the songs Orange Blossoms, The Devil You Know, and Dew Drops. I’d like this a lot better in a bar than recorded, but for those of you into this type of stuff, definitely check it out. I’ll go 8/10 for this CD.

Anberlin - Feel Good Drag (Single)
YAY! Reminds me of, well, Anberlin, which is good.

Sing It loud - Come Around (acoustic)
Bayside - Masterpiece
Drive By - Rotting on the Vine
The Used - Earthquake
New Found Glory - I don’t Wanna Know
Alkaline Trio - Old School Reasons
The Gamits - Open Window
Less Than Jake - Don’t Fall Asleep on the Subway
MCR - Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
Rocket From the Crypt - Heart of a Rat
