I'm actually a little jealous of the first half of this mix, because it is AWESOME. Then it becomes kind of ... you know, shuffly. But I can work with that.

This is a great opener. It's recognizable, but it's an acoustic version, so it's got a great kind of familiar-but-not feel to it.

Sleep's just time spent wasting time
3. The Classic Crime - Warrior Poet
When your body wants to run
But your heart knows you're better than that
I'd like to build a mix around this line, actually. I may do this at some point.
4. Jason Mraz - On Love, In Sadness
You can have your pick if your stomach is sick whether you eat or not
And there is just one thing that I never forgot
5. The Used - Paralyzed
Back and forth like some walking spastic
How could a fistfight be romantic
I LOVE the transition between On Love, In sadness and Paralyzed. It's one of the best happy accidents my Zune ever gave me.
6. Joe Strummer - Coma Girl
The coma girl was beating with the oil drum gang
some fast food fanatics was burning down a burger van
I was actually thinking near the end of Paralyzed "If I was making this mix with intent, I'd play off the horns and go with something in the light ska vein". And this is what came up. It's not technically ska, but the feel is just what I was looking for, and it's pretty much perfect.
7. MSI - Never Wanted to Dance

Not the transition I would have made here. I think it works, but I think it only works because I really like this song.
8. A Day to Remember - Speak of the Devil
Hope for the best but it's over,
and you thought you were better than me.
I'm pretty sure there's a narrative to these songs together, but it doesn't seem like a happy story at all.
9. Birthday Massacre - Red Stars (Space Lab Mix)
You'd feel it
We'd fake it
Okay, this is a great song, but it's a bad choice for this point in a mix. It's too drastic a change from the previous song and it's far too long. It's like clunky witty banter in the middle of a fight scene. You just need to get on with it
10. The Cab - Take My Hand
To show that this is not a game
We'll end this tragedy today
Again, there's too dramatic a shift here, both musically and thematically. I would, however, like to see this at the beginning of the narrative this mix is trying to tell.
11. Nirvana - Stay Away
Rather be dead than cool
