reddwarfer "Really, Tezuka, I don't need any help," Fuji said, managing a smile. He ignored the pain on his arm and started walking towards the clubhouse, trying to keep it as still as possible.
"You are not." Tezuka was using that voice, the one that promised that there would be some freshmen running lots of laps in the morning. Really, it was as much Fuji's fault as theirs. He should have noticed someone had left a water bottle by the side of the court before he had stumble on it while trying to return one of Tezuka's shots.
He had landed on his arm, the left one thankfully, but even so, Tezuka had refused to finish the match. He had been scowling, well as close to a scowl as Tezuka got, which wasn't much anyway, and very few people even noticed. "I was going to play seriously," Fuji said.
"No, you weren't."
"You are no fun, Tezuka."
They reached the clubhouse and Fuji, as always, sat and unashamedly watched Tezuka change. The first time he had done that Tezuka had stopped and just returned Fuji's stare until some other club members walked in. Little by little Tezuka had grown used to it and sometime last week he had actually started to undress a little slower. Fuji had asked him if he was putting on a show but Tezuka hadn't answered.
When Tezuka was done Fuji moved to his locker, just to have Tezuka stand right behind him. "You might hurt your arm if you change. It isn't necessary."
"You don't want to see me naked?" Fuji's voice was low, barely above a whisper.
Tezuka reached pass him and took Fuji's regular's jacket from the locker. Carefully, he placed it over Fuji's shoulders.
Fuji looked up at Tezuka, ready to tease him a bit more but stopped. There was something weird in Tezuka's eyes, something that he didn't understand until Tezuka's lips were placed awkwardly over his.
Their noses bumped and Fuji smiled into the kiss. "We need practice," Fuji said when they parted.
"After we go to the doctor," Tezuka replied firmly.
Fuji smiled. "Tezuka, you are no fun."
In reply, Tezuka only smirked, a promise of many kisses to come.

Characers: Golden Pair and some Fuji

hexadecimal00 "… and the last one to arrive gets to drink super deluxe Inui Juice, the remixed edition."
Eiji hid slightly behind Oishi. "They have editions now, nya!"
Oishi gulped but bravely stayed put, giving the brown-greenish drink a distrustful look. He definitely didn't want to drink that.
"Can't I have a taste now?" Fuji was smiling and, contrary to the rest of the group, actually moving closer to the pitcher with the evil liquid.
"It is for the one who gets out of the maze last," Inui announced. "I'll be waiting at the exit. Remember this exercise will test your agility and speed as well as your analytical reasoning."
All the regulars gathered by the entrance of the maze Inui had managed to construct on the courts using piles of hay. No one asked how or why, there were some things Inui did that were better left unanswered.
At the sound of the whistle they all rushed inside the maze, quickly dividing into the different paths. Oishi stopped momentarily, trying to decide which of the five paths to take, but before he could decide someone grabbed a hold of his wrist and pulled him down the second one.
"Eiji! Slow down, do you even know where you are going?"
"No one does, Oishi. Is a maze." He changed his hold on Oishi's wrist so now their hands were entwined. "If we hurry we won't have to drink that thing."
"But we will never get out if we don't have a plan," Oishi protested weakly. He wasn't as fast as Eiji and it was taking a bit of work to keep up with his double's partner.
"I have a plan," Eiji declared proudly. "I'm following Fuji."
Oishi looked ahead and barely caught a glimpse of a regular's jacket disappearing around a corner. "Are you sure?"
"I see him," said Eiji, opening his eyes wide. Eiji had the best eyes of all Seigaku, and Oishi trusted him. He tightened his grip and let Eiji guide him blindly around the maze… until they reached a dead end.
Fuji was leaning against the wall, smiling as always.
"Fuji, Nya! Where's the exit?" Eiji was still holding onto Oishi, looking around the hay walls as if there was a secret exit.
"The exit?" Fuji tilted his head to the side. "I'm pretty sure it was following the fourth path, the way Tezuka went. Two rights, a left a right again and three more lefts."
"Then why are you here?" Eiji was getting anxious and Oishi was too, seeing as they were lost in the maze and probably wasting valuable time.
"Me? I want to try the new juice and Inui said I had to arrive last…"
Oishi's mouth opened and Eiji let out a scream. "Come on, Oishi, we have to hurry," he said, pulling on Oishi's hand again.
"But now I think it would be fun if I got to see you drink it too," said Fuji pensively.
"Fujiko, you wouldn't…"
But before Eiji could finish the sentence, Fuji was rushing pass them. Oishi felt a violent tug in his arm and tried to hurry. Eiji was trying to go full speed now and Oishi wouldn't hold him down, just as Eiji wouldn't leave him behind. After all, that's what doubles partners did, no matter what.

Extra drabble
Smiles
Characters: Mainly Fuji thinking of his friends. Some Tezuka/Fuji.
There were many things Fuji found boring; geometry class for example. He could half listen to the teacher while gazing out the window and pondering much more important things like what would Yuuta be doing right now or anyone else for that matter. Eiji was sitting right beside him but Fuji didn't have to turn to him to know that hi friend was half dozing and half doodling himself performing various acrobatic tennis moves. He would show the sketches to Oishi before practice, smiling happily and talking fast.
Oishi was probably taking notes now. Whatever the teacher said, Oishi dutifully copied on his notebook, that's why many girls begged to borrow his notes after class, Oishi never missed a single word.
Tezuka also took good notes but they weren't as extensive as Oishi's. Now he was probably paying careful attention to his chemistry teacher, selecting what information he needed to record on his notebook to study later. Fuji looked down at his own notes: words scribbled now and then with very short explanations added as an afterthought. He only took notes for Eiji's benefit anyway, and Eiji was capable of gathering a great amount of information from Fuji's careless scribbles.
As much as Fuji enjoyed spending time with Tezuka, he had come to appreciate the fact that they weren't classmates. Fuji and Eiji had a harmony that was natural between them. They shared the need to do something else other than focusing completely on the lectures and they enjoyed passing notes, laughing at each other's doodles, whispering gossip and daydreaming. While Eiji winked at him every time Fuji asked what Eiji liked to call a 'Fuji question' Tezuka would have giving him a disapproving stare.
Fuji figured that class was break time for Tezuka. Fuji understood the captain's need to focus completely in whichever endeavor he attempted, be it academic or athletic. And Fuji knew that if he had Tezuka by his side all day long he wouldn't be able to stop himself from asking Fuji like questions in the middle of a test, showing Tezuka his doodles and ask him to write up the dialogue or just generally distract him in every way possible. Even though Tezuka might be able to handle it by the time tennis practice came Tezuka wouldn't be as receptive to Fuji's antics, and while Fuji wasn't afraid of extra laps, he found it way more entertaining to tease Tezuka in practice.
Few noticed how much Tezuka's demeanor changed come practice time. In the surface he might look the same but he certainly wasn't. He was just as focused as he was in class but more relaxed since he was now doing something he enjoyed, something he wanted for himself. And this was the Tezuka Fuji enjoyed teasing the most, the one who would smirk slightly just before assigning laps. While Eiji moaned and whined, Fuji never tired of that small glimpse of a smile.
That wasn't the only hidden Tezuka smile, there was one not showed but spoken every time he said "Fuji" just that way. Fuji liked to think of it as annoyance mixed with fondness and while many wouldn't call it a smile at all, Fuji knew it was. Inui had told him once that Tezuka tended to assign 15% less laps when he called Fuji's name like that more than twice in one day.
And then, there was that special smile, the slight curve of the lips that Tezuka would get whenever Fuji played him seriously, no matter that it only lasted a point or two at a time. There was something frightfully addictive about that smile. Fuji was careful not to overuse it, wary that one day he wouldn't be able to stop himself and actually try to win.
Still, maybe the next time they played he might just take an extra point… just to see what happens.
