JUST KIDDING! I'm doing a different plot.

After my original plot failed because of lack of planning, I blundered through a few short stories and some fragments of story ideas that I'll mostly likely never finish. Then I decided to pick up one of my old plots, because none of the borrowed plots were really working (you know, the ones from the Adopt a Plot thread and other places). Throughout this ordeal, I kept asking myself, "What do I like to write? What do I love to write? What can I write for 25 more days and not become too tired of it?" I thought, okay. I like fiction. Great.

Narrowing it down. I like fantasy.

I like present tense or 3rd person from a person's perspective. Okay.

I like parody, angst, adventure, or any combination of the three.

Okay.

Um. Fantasy, adventure maybe? Plus parody? BINGO. I thought, "Ohh, how about that old plot?"

So this year is technically a revision of an old plot I started (kind of) back in NaNo '09. Yes, it's got some copied & pasted stuff... but not too much.

Here's the synopsis:

Oh no! The cliches in Happily Ever After Land are disappearing! Heroes are no longer handsome, witches have become friendly, frogs are no longer princes in disguise -- and there are no more happily ever afters.

For young Thyan Braveheart, this is unacceptable. He was a hero who had no less than the rescue of fifty princesses to his name, who conquered many evil villains and monsters, and was respected by every honest man or woman in the kingdom. But now, he's just a lanky, acne-ridden teenager who looks no more a hero than a frog. What's worse, his sidekick has suddenly gained a mind! He has a decent amount of common sense now! That certainly won't do. After all, how can he be the hero everyone looks up to if his sidekick is the one stealing the glory?

No. This definitely has to stop. So he sets out on a quest to restore the cliches back to what they once were -- so he can become a hero again. But as he travels, he finds that maybe being a normal guy isn't so bad, and having a partner who can actually think is actually kind of... helpful.

And maybe, maybe being a hero isn't simply being in the pre-cut expectations that everyone has.
...........

I'm sorry if that sounds stupid, because I think it's awesome. I have always loved fantasy parodies. ALWAYS. And this is MY NaNo, not yours.
Will post an except sometime later. Too tired now. Going to sleep. Still have about 1.5K to catch up on~~
