"This world is a mad world, Clark." Bruce shifts a little uneasily on their bed. It was late at night, and Bruce was wavering on the line between sleep and wakefulness.
"I know, Bruce." Clark shifts with his love, twining his legs and arms around him.
"There are all these reasons for this madness too. Trying to make logic out of the illogical, to justify their chaos." Bruce shifted closer as well, unconciously seeking comfort.
"There is a brand of madness that helps make sense of the chaos, too."
"What is it?"
Clark softly kisses Bruce's temple.
"Love."
Bruce falls asleep, his dreams filled with peace instead of insanity.
