Oh yeah. You blend.

This week's fannish5: List five characters who are best equipped to survive in alternate universes, and why.

1) Claude (Heroes): Talk about being able to blend. Unless he's stuck in Everyone's-A-Telepath World or Super Infrared Vision Land he'll have plenty of time to learn the lay of the land before anyone even knows he's there. Even putting his power aside, Claude's smart, resourceful and used to living off the grid.

2) Jack Harkness (Doctor Who/Torchwood): Now Jack's terrible at blending, but he is adaptable and able to be at home anywhere. He's had centuries of bizarre experiences to prepare him for pretty much anything and his con man past would serve him well in sliding into a new universe. And it he does have any trouble, he'll just seduce his way out of it. (Hey, it's worked pretty well so far, right?)

3) Jack Carter (Eureka): Compared to an average day in Eureka, an alternate universe would probably be a vacation. And anyway, going from mundane life to Eureka's sheriff isn't all that different from falling into an alternate universe.

4) Batman: Even without his money Bats is insanely resourceful and an excellent judge of people, and he's used to sliding in and out of identities to suit the situation. Besides, he probably has a contingency plan for just such an occasion.

5) House: I'll be honest, I don't know how well House would do in an alternate universe. I do, however, want to watch him wreak havoc in one. The very instant he figures out what's happened he would search out the alternate versions of everyone he knows and start tormenting them.
