5. Grave of the Fireflies

If you're capable of watching his movie without crying, you have no soul. That is all.

I can't even think about that movie without tearing up. I've never actually finished it. You know why? I WAS CRYING TOO HARD. And now I have this irrational fear of sitting down and finishing it because I was an impressionable little fourth grader the first time I tried to watch it and I was crying and every time I'd stop something else would happen and then I'd cry again and oh god the memories.

There's a little Asian grocery by me that sells the exact same brand of candy Setsuko eats in the film, little metal tin and all. It was surreal stumbling across it; I haven't seen GotF in years and it all came rushing back.

By all means, see it, but watch something happy and silly immediately afterwards.:)

oh my gosh I've seen Grave of the Fireflies 2.5 times and just thinking about it makes me want to cry...the scene with the rice balls made of mud? waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

The second time was in Drama class. A bunch of my classmates were snickering or rolling their eyes. :( Though some of that might have been trying to hide sadness.

oh, Doomsday. I got teary but was able to hold it in while watching. But then, the next day, I started thinking about it and then really crying. Turns out it was exactly 24 hours later when I started crying.

I get irrationally angry when the universe is cruel to the Doctor. I have no idea how I'm going to react when I finally get around to seeing War Games. (f@&king Time Lords!)
