This was pretty fascinating! I've never considered John/Cas because we've never seen them interact in canon, but I totally buy this. The time travel on top of time travel was especially cool.

First of all, I'm so pleased that we got to write for each other. Secondly, I loved this fic!

I love the wager in this and how Cas is at a loss for what to do.

I was so creeped out when Michael says,"do you know the best way to dispose of broken tools?...you burn them." And it's so ominous to have War say "I think God left the building a long time ago." how it's echoed here. I love how everyone was out of the linear timeline, too, how even as Castiel is there he's been searching for Dean in Hell.

It's also funny that you had Cas eat MREs :) And I love that he volunteered to go find Dean because he was tired of waiting.

And then I actually got really emotional when Cas says, "Heaven will marvel at you, John Winchester." And their relationship was amazing. It felt sort of Doctor Who-ish, where John moves on in life but meets Cas later in a different body.

Basically, I love this! Thank you so much for such a great present!!

OH YAY! I feel like I've been waiting to post this for years.:)

Everything I found said that was the worst kind of MRE to get, so I almost felt duty bound to inflict it on Cas.

I can't tell you how excited I was to see you post this fic. I've been longing for John/Cas for...I don't know how long, and this was so damned near a perfect story. Thank you SO much for sharing it. I'm a sucker for war AU's and this was absolutely brilliant. Mem'ing it immediately :)
