Japan Vacation Day 7 Recap

Rain was looming but what can you do?

Off to find another cute place for breakfast we went! I love the coffee cups being all different but cute!

The rain could not keep people away from Nijo Castle (Nijojo). The tour inside was very cool! Got to see the many waiting rooms and where visitors of certain rank would get to go to specific rooms. We also got to see the shogun's living quarters and where the attendants would be etc...

Surrounding garden area :D

Since we both had cameras this trip, there are actually more pics of me for a change! Here's hubby and I fooling around with our cameras waiting for our train to come. The ones on top are at Nijojo-mae Station. The ones on the bottom are maybe Nijo Station?? not sure. Please excuse my bare face...I don't remember if I was lazy or in a hurry to get out the door that morning...

What to do in the rain? Hmmm, we decided we could go to Arashiyama and take the Sagano Scenic Railway and not get too wet. It was really fun and got to see beautiful scenery!

I don't remember where this bakery was, but we got some pics of it to share. Bakeries kind of intimidate me. I think it's not knowing what everything is...and just the vast amount of products they have. I would be mad to pick something disappointing. Anyway, we just looked and didn't buy anything.

Off to department store to browse and hide from the rain. I believe this was DAIMARU. We got lunch there (good luck finding where you're supposed to eat it). Hehe they have elevator attendants.

Love at first bite! Ok, I never ever ever tried a macaron (not to be confused with macaroon) before this. Whenever I see pictures of macarons, I've always loved how dainty and perfect they look....and how many colors/flavors they come in.

I was just going to be happy with the eye candy, however, I was given a sample by the lady behind the counter and OMG, I decided to get some. I got (2) sakura (ended up being my favorite), green tea, lemon, and strawberry flavor. Now I'm like addicted to them. Almost everyday I'm craving macarons. Hubby wants me to make them at home and yes...I'm quite scared. They are not easy to make. I'd be happy to buy some...but no one sells them here really...

After that we just went back to the house and chilled for the rest of the evening. Dinner was leftover convenient store stuff we had...

Get ready for a day trip to Osaka!
