I love your take on what happened during the predator attack! I really wish we could have seen all this during the episode, especially as your Lester is so protective and noble. It's great the way you've written this from Jess's perspective, and I admire your ability to convey Jess's many conflicting emotions.

We don't see it because the writers were ramping up the tension and the threat level (Primeval never hesitated to kill off characters), but I have to agree that it would have been great.

Lester is protective here because... well, he is under all that cool detachment and snark. Imo it's obvious that he does protect Jess, as he's the one injured and she doesn't have a scratch on her.

Thanks, though. This was my first time writing Jess and it was interesting to see the scene through her eyes. Poor girl.
