yixing and kris engage in some questions and answers.

hazard a guess

the lazy afternoon sun shines weakly through the balcony windows, its beams splashing and moving across the room according to the movements of the playful curtains stirred by the light breeze.

yixing plops down beside kris on their favorite couch and takes a moment to snuggle close, his legs drawn to his chest like a fetus hibernating in a mother’s womb. kris chuckles and his finger unconsciously draws tiny circles on yixing’s arm; he loves how the other is always lingering on the couch, so much so that the couch is starting to smell like his lover.

(he likes that yixing’s scent is always there to mesmerize him, especially during the long winter nights when the other can’t be there with him.

it is a comfort he has learned to appreciate.)

yixing’s face is a transparent piece of fragile glass, constantly ready to lay bare the inner thoughts and emotions of its owner. right now, a thoughtful expression is apparent on his face and kris can already see the cogs in his mind moving about as he puzzles and attempts to figure out something.

“stop thinking too much, you are going to grow more wrinkles from all these thinking and frowning.” jokingly, kris rubs his fingers on yixing’s forehead to smooth out the creases.

“stop it!” yixing swats away kris’ palm away but a moment later, decides to put the other’s long arm around his body as he lies on kris’ warm chest.

“what are you thinking about?”

“do you love me?”

he had expected this from yixing. their relationship has always been precarious and they have been too afraid to say out loud what they really felt for each other because words can be such a heavy commitment and burden sometimes. they knew this, knew it too well from their previous relationships and so they chose to keep hidden all the words, pretending that these words weren’t necessary to keep them together.

maybe all along, they were just waiting for each other to say those words. and today, yixing has chosen to break the silence; this was his way of laying bare his vulnerabilities and insecurities.

(this was his way of surrendering to kris.)

and today, kris is going to be brutally honest to yixing and to himself.

“if you have to know, it has already reached a dangerous stage.”

“how so?”

so many questions, but there has always been just one answer. “dangerous because I can no longer live alone.”

(dangerous to the point he can no longer live without yixing.)

yixing tightens his hold around this man, this man he has never stopped loving ever since their first meeting a year ago.

“me too.”

comments will be nice :)
