Lol... I love the "Bold statement A la Chelsea:" system... nice touch ;).

As to statement #1... perhaps. It might not be so much as they dont want a democracy as that they are uninformed, scared, or otherwise unwilling to change. Bush forgot one of the CARDINAL rules of warfare going into this: "Know thy enemy." Even under the King of England, there was a certain amount of 'democracy' already in place. The English had their parliment. As settlers, we understood and approved the parlimentary system. The Iraqi's, however, have been held under an absolute dictatorship for as long as they can remember. Most of them probably dont even believe that they CAN rule themselves, (though thats mere speculation on my part). The idea of self governing most likely hadn't crossed their minds and may even seem absurd to them. The other fact being, most of these 'insurgeants' arent even Iraqi's! They're largely foreigners from Eygpt, Syria, Jordan, and other surrounding Muslim states. It's not so much the Iraqi people (though there are still a good handful fighting us) rising up against an oppressor, so much as a foreign power (the Islamic Extremists on their "Jihad" against americans, most likely linked to AL Quieda) using the chaos and confusion to their utmost advantage.

#2 I agree with you almost entirely. I will be bold enough to say that I believe American ideas have a greater chance of being a "Good" idea based on our 'free' society and large mix of various religions, cultures, and races (though not always true. American economics are Brilliant... save for the small detail that WE DONT FOLLOW THEM lol.).

#3 But of course! Common... its American politics... when has there NOT been alterior motives lol. It's also kinda funny... this whole "police the world" role we've taken on is in direct opposition to the views of the men who founded us (isolationism ring a bell? Even though that was ended by the World Wars...)and im pretty sure that if we hadn't been dinking around in the middleeast to begin with, 9/11 would have never happened. COuld be wrong though... never can be quite sure how history works.
