Thoughts while making dinner.

Now I can finally make the risotto with acorn squash that I've been meaning to do since mid-January!

Crap, I forgot to get white wine. Maybe some Miller Lite will work instead.

Trader Joe's, why would you put a recipe for risotto on your box of arborio rice that calls for 12 ounces of rice, when the box has 17.5 ounces in it? That's just silly.

Wow, I bet watching the episode of Spartacus with the maggoty corpse while eating this risotto would be a mistake.

Crap, I think I just added too much broth. And it was going so well! It's now somewhere between a soup with rice, and risotto.

I bet this consistency would be perfect for my instant oatmeal, though. Darnit.

Well, maybe the broth will be okay - the taste test reveals that the rice isn't nice and soft yet. I'm not entirely sure why I can't seem to get arborio rice to soften up properly, but I bet it has to do with my lack of patience when it's dinner time.

Maybe if I cover it for a little while.

Or add more broth? It seems to have soaked up the too-much broth.

RISOTTO IS COMPLICATED.
