substitute tea for cupcake
I decided to rip back to my life line on the hat. The decreasing just wasn't going to work out nicely, and it was so frustrating just thinking about it that I was avoiding the project entirely. So, I spent another hour or so figuring out how the stripes are actually going to run into each other - it looks kinda neat and chaotic at the crown, the way I've got them coming together, so this could be cool. The new method demands nothing more exciting than k3tog and p3tog where two stripes join, and I think it'll look neater and more deliberate than the mess I was making before.
In other news, Steve and I are going on a food adventure tomorrow night! We're taking the Metra up to Highland Park and going to a KOSHER TEXAS BBQ place. My mouth is watering already.
I'm planning on going in to work early tomorrow (ugh) so I can avoid staying late so we can actually make it up there in time. I have to get to Ogilvie before 5:50 if humanly possible, 6:00 works too. But apparently the 5:50 runs express.
This will be a good reward for going in to work early and putting up with all kinds of irritability this past week (and today). And I like being alone in the early hours at work, once I'm actually there. It's peaceful, and I feel more productive. It's the getting there that gives me trouble.
