[o]Honk. (The group all meeting on the rooftop in the veil after the conclusion of Terezi vs. Vriska.)
Personality: Gamzee as we meet him originally is friendly, easy going, and constantly stoned out of his mind. He loves rainbows and miracles and believes everyone should follow what's in their hearts. He's also a member of an obscure cult, a follower of the Mirthful Messiahs and their Dark Carnival.
This is actually a reference to the group Insane Clown Posse, and the troll himself appears to follow a very "Juggalo"-esque lifestyle, right down to drinking Faygo. When Dave, one of the main human characters in the story, actually shows him a video of one of their songs, however, he flips out over it and calls it blasphemy. This, as well as him running out of slime, are what lead to him going off the deep end.
Unfortunately a lot of his motivations are speculation, as we're not shown any of Gamzee's thought process. The following are solid facts, though: Gamzee considers himself to be the Mirthful Messiahs now, kills both Equius and Nepeta, and tells Karkat he means to kill them all. He then takes the heads of all the deceased trolls and makes a "jury" out of them, putting their bodies in glass chambers. Rather than kill Vriska and Terezi outright, however, he leads the second to a confrontation with the first that leads to Vriska's death, as though aware of what the outcome would be. He is also shown in what should be a future scene watching what we are told is a "miracle of rebirth". There is also a time in the future where he contacts Dave again, as the boy mentioned Gamzee having gotten onto him about his crisis of faith before it actually happened. (Time shenanigans in this series are everywhere.)
Any number of things could be inferred about him from this. It's at least apparent that he's far more clever when sober, as he orchestrates a lot of the events that follow. It might be that he even somehow knows more about what's going on with the others and what needs to happen for their session to be fixed. One theory is that everyone needs to die first for this to happen, or at least that Gamzee thinks as much.
There's no doubt that he's crazy and not at all friendly at this point. He's brought up the hemospectrum and his place on it, as well as claiming that he's above others as a descendant of the subjuggulators. He has no qualms about killing others and/or just scaring the shit out of them. However, I'm fairly certain he has some plan, something he wants to see happen, and I think a good way of keeping him from just going on a murder spree in this new environment is the fact that everything is wrong and this isn't how things should have played out. With that in mind, he'll be less out for blood right away.
It doesn't seem impossible that he could be reached, either, as Karkat survives a troubling confrontation with him (which we've yet to see as I write this app) that he claimed was very emotional. There's also still a conversation with Dave that needs to take place where Gamzee gets somewhat over his anger about his crisis of faith and has a rap-off with him. Unfortunately there are also holes the plot has yet to fill.
He will definitely make death threats often, and will be willing to take on any challengers. He'll stick near any of his fellow trolls if only to keep an eye on them for his future purposes. Any attempts to make him high again will be met with violent opposition.
Powers/Abilities: He's just a little hax. We're not shown how strong he is, but we're told that he does the most damage to the final boss in their game. And this boss is pretty huge and nasty. There's also the matter of him never having to upgrade his weapons at any time during their session. He's proven to have excellent aim and incredible speed. It all seems to be physical in nature, though. No psychic abilities.
Items you're bringing with you: All characters in Homestuck have a sylladex, which allows them to store numerous items. This isn't so much a physical thing as something they just... have. As if their whole world is one computer program and they're all players in it. They also have a strife specibus, which is where their weapons are stored. Usually this is only one type of weapon per person, but when Gamzee goes sober his turns into a "Jokerkind" deck, allowing him to retrieve weapons belonging to just about anyone. For example, he's currently using the Warhammer of Zillyhoo, something belonging to John who isn't even in their session.
He will also have in his possession the puppet
Cal.

First Person POV (Network Post):
[The feed clicks on, but there doesn't seem to be any image. The screen is black, but the sound of someone breathing near the mic can be heard.
Suddenly the image pans down from what had clearly been the ceiling of a darkened room until it focuses on part of the face of a gray-skinned creature, sharp teeth protruding over his bottom lip and face marred by three long scars. The paint that most who knew him would be familiar with is gone for now, but he means to remedy that soon enough. His lips turn upwards into a sinister smile.
When he speaks, his voice is low and dangerous.]
I am looking forward to meeting you both.
[...Until it suddenly and easily switches to something louder and uglier in tone.]
MOTHERFUCKIN' HUMAN FRIENDS.
[Then the feed goes quiet again, and the image pans further down to the face of a familiar and utterly creepy puppet before shutting off.]
Third Person POV (Log Post):
Wrong.
Half-lidded eyes scanned slowly over one side of the room before darting to the other. Gamzee stood in the center of the room, still dripping from the liquid in the cryo-chamber. His arms were held loose at his side, his posture the easy slouch of someone newly wakened and sluggish. He was anything but the latter.
This was all wrong.
One step forward, then the next. The slow movements of a hunter wary of an ambush. This wasn't the Veil. This wasn't anywhere familiar, and there were no signs of anyone he knew either. They had gathered and he shouldn't have been alone again. None of these names were even...
The troll stopped at an empty chamber as he passed it. The name visible on its outer shell read Tavros Nitram, but the body of his former friend wasn't inside, with or without the head. He knelt down to run a hand over the letters, as if doing so would present him with answers that the chamber itself could not. Dead or alive, Tavros shouldn't be here either.
So very wrong.
One more thing to make right.
He had plans now that his mind was clear of the poison that had filled it for sweeps. They had plans, and after such careful preparation it wasn't right for something to come completely out of nowhere and throw them out of whack. So he would have to readjust. They would have to readjust, no matter what the new setting was. He hadn't died. He had a feeling he'd know if he had. So this was something else, something involving someone outside the usual ring of influence. They would be found, and they would pay for ruining everything.
With a more set goal in mind, Gamzee ignored the other chambers and made for the only clear exit he could see.
