A/N: I wrote this fic long ago and only posted it in sjfullhouse. Decided to post it here. (:
Summary: Kibum asked a simple question as advised by Kyuhyun.
Kibum sighed as he took a seat beside Kyuhyun at the food court. Kyuhyun happened to be his hoobae in high school, and so their relationship was considered quite close. Kyuhyun even followed Kibum's pace to enter the same university.
"What's wrong, hyung? You don't normally sigh." Kyuhyun asked, concerned.
"It’s Donghae. I am reaching my limit! He has been hanging out with Eunhyuk too much now, and God knows that EunHae sounds better than KiHae!"
"Are you jealous, hyung?"
"Ye- NO." Kibum replied, face flushing.
Kyuhyun stared at Kibum intensely. Feeling uncomfortable, Kibum admitted defeat.
"It’s just that I feel so insecure at times. You do know how sociable that boy is, right?"
Kyuhyun chuckled as he glanced at the other end of the food court. Donghae was having lunch with Eunhyuk, Shindong, and some other friends. They were having fish and chips, Donghae's favorite dish. There were girls too; and the girls were now taking turns to feed Donghae.
"How can I not know? Well, I do understand how you feel. Sometimes I feel uneasy when Sungmin is too close with others as well. I almost scolded Siwon for being too touchy towards my pumpkin princess last week."
Kibum smiled sympathetically. He knew Siwon is a very affectionate - or rather - touchy person, but he was sure Siwon could not help it. Sungmin was almost as adorable as Donghae; even Jungsu and Kangin treated Sungmin as if he is their baby. Of course, my Donghae is cuter. Kibum added to his thought.
"But you know, sometimes it's not only towards boys, I feel jealous when Donghae gets close to girls as well!"
"Isn't that normal?"
Kibum looked down. "The last thing I want to hear from Hae is that he has regretted his choice of being together with me and decided that he is straight after all as he left me cold with a girl!"
"Hyung, you know Donghae hyung is not like that." Kyuhyun assured.
"Well, you do understand, don't you? I’m sure you feel the same way when you see Sungmin with a girl."
But to Kibum's surprise, Kyuhyun shook his head.
"I am more afraid that Minnie would turn more pinkish than he already is if he go with girls."
"Pink? Talking about me?"
Kibum and Kyuhyun looked back to find Sungmin grinning widely.
"Watch me, hyung." Kyuhyun whispered.
"MINNIE~ how much do you love me?"
Sungmin blushed. "More than I love pink!"
Kyuhyun laughed, he looked satisfied.
After Sungmin left, Kyuhyun turned to Kibum. "This is my way of gaining some securities for myself. At least I feel reassured that he still loves me. You should try asking Donghae hyung too. Who knows you'll feel better after his confession."
Kibum thought it was too cheesy and ridiculous, but he nodded.
- After school -
"Bummie, let's go home~" Donghae called Kibum cheerfully. Sighing, Kibum took his bag and followed Donghae.
"See you, Fishy!"
"Bye, Fishy~"
"Fishy, I'll miss you!"
"Make sure you come tomorrow, Fishy~"
Donghae was saying good-bye and see-you-tomorrow as they walked past few people. He didn't seem to mind people giving him a pet name. Meanwhile, Kibum was doing his best to sustain his jealousy, but it was getting out of control.
I never even call him with pet names, how could he let them do it?
"Hae, can we talk?"
"But of course, aren't we talking?"
Donghae gave Kibum an innocent look. Kibum took a deep breath and continued, "How much do you love me?"
Donghae smiled widely and kissed Kibum's cheek with affection.
"Much more than the number of fishes in the ocean!"
Well, I guess for once, Kyuhyun was right.
