I have often wondered what will become of us when we return home. If we return with our memories intact, should I not be able to choose to avoid the disaster that is meant to befall me, since I know now where it will come from and what form it will take?

I do now. Something to do with an evil force that resides in the card DD stole - possibly the same force that drove him to murder Edo's father in the first place. It seems that if I had stayed in our world for a few seconds longer, I would have touched the card and become infected with it as well. But it seems that disaster has been averted by a narrow margin.
